Learning to think and act like an entrepreneur - this year again, pupils from the grammar schools in Glinde, Reinbek and Wentorf have the opportunity to do so. For 18 participants, AMANDUS KAHL offers not only a platform for getting to know each other, but also for learning to think like a business woman or man.
Since the year 2000, AMANDUS KAHL has opened the doors to young high school graduates every year to introduce them to the world of business administration and mechanical and plant engineering. In cooperation with the VSW (Association and Service Organisation of the Economic Regions Holstein and Hamburg e. V.), the business game WIWAG takes place every year with companies from the region. The students learn to make entrepreneurial decisions and gain an insight into how a company works. This includes, for example, establishing contacts with representatives from the region.
During WIWAG, the high school graduates themselves manage three simulated industrial companies in a computer-aided business game. For this purpose, they are divided across schools into three groups, which form the respective executive board of a stock corporation. These three stock companies try to produce and sell a certain product as well as possible. The annual goal is to combine business and economics theory and practice.
Another goal is, of course, to motivate the participants for an apprenticeship or a dual study programme at AMANDUS KAHL - last but not least, a tour of the company and a presentation of the respective apprenticeships took place.
As in every year, the participants in 2019 showed great commitment and applied business-oriented thinking from day one.
