From May 4 to 7, 2026, the environmental technology industry will meet at IFAT in Munich, the world's largest platform for environmental technologies related to water, recycling, and circularity. At booth 546 in hall B4, Amandus Kahl will present technical processes and machines that efficiently process recyclable materials and secondary raw materials and optimize industrial processes within the recycling cycle. The machine manufacturer uses proven flat die pelleting technology to process products such as plastic waste and old textiles so they can be used as homogeneous input material in synthetic fuel processes and chemical recycling.
The importance of low-carbon synthetic fuels is growing worldwide wherever electrical solutions reach their technical limits, whether in the chemical industry, aviation, or heavy-duty transport. These fuels are produced from various carbon sources, including biogenic residues, recycled materials, and CO₂ from industrial waste gases, as well as plastic and textile fractions that undergo thermochemical processing. Homogeneous, treated input materials are crucial for all these processes. This is where Amandus Kahl's pelleting technology comes in. It compacts fine, fibrous, or heterogeneous materials into dimensionally stable pellets that can be precisely dosed, stored and uniformly fed into pyrolysis, gasification, or depolymerization processes. Since these thermal and chemical processes are sensitive to fluctuations in quantity, shape, or density, a constant supply of material is essential.
Pellet mill for a wide range of applications
Compaction is important for both the production of synthetic fuels and the recycling of plastics. In this area, single-type or mixed fractions are often pelleted prior to thermal and chemical processing. The same applies to old textiles. In pellet form, textile fibers are easier to transport, store, and process. The flat die pellet mill from Amandus Kahl can also process sewage sludge or biomass such as wood residues, other organic by-products, residual materials, and organic waste. Biogenic materials are used to produce stable fuel pellets, and sewage sludge can be prepared specifically for thermal treatment and recycling processes through compaction. At IFAT, interested visitors can see how Amandus Kahl, with its 150 years of experience in mechanical engineering, supports companies in converting waste streams into usable products. The flat die pellet mill 60-1500 with power connection will be showcased.
