Expander: versatile, efficient and future-orientated
The AMANDUS KAHL expander OE 23.2 represents a versatile technology that significantly improves the quality of compound feed. Through the combination of moisture, temperature and pressure, the expander optimises the nutritional, hygienic and physical properties of feed. It is suitable for mixing, kneading and homogenising, as well as for agglomeration and short-term conditioning. A hydraulically adjustable cone ensures continuous adjustment of pressure and temperature (5-120 bar, 90-130 °C), meaning that the expander can be used flexibly for different applications. The expander ensures effective hygienisation by eliminating pathogens such as salmonella and at the same time increases the output of the subsequent pelleting process by up to 50 percent. A crown outlet can be used for particularly intensive treatments, for example in the production of cattle feed. Rumen-stable proteins (‘bypass proteins’) are obtained which increase the performance of dairy cows and fattening cattle and relieve the rumen. Thus, formaldehyde, which has already been banned in the EU, is no longer required for rumen protection.
Precision and flexibility in feed production
The crushing roller mill WSB 2040.2 with individual drive developed by AMANDUS KAHL especially for the feed industry, enables a more precise adjustment of the grinding result and feed recipes compared to the central drive common in this industry. The individual adjustability of the roller speed and the grinding gap ensures a homogeneous, easy-to-digest feed structure, which is crucial for animal health and ultimately contributes significantly to maximum quality of meat, milk and eggs. The crushing roller mill forms a powerful duo with the expander. While the crushing roller mill produces the optimum coarse structure, the expander maintains and refines this structure.
The AMANDUS KAHL pellet mill 60-1500 offers a variety of configurations to meet the diverse requirements in animal feed production. It not only preserves the fibre structure of straw or alfalfa pellets, but also processes chopped products without pre-grinding - with a high throughput rate and low energy consumption.
As a new addition to their product portfolio, AMANDUS KAHL presents the fluidised bed technology. This technology significantly improves the quality of feedstuff. It is used to encapsulate vitamins, enzymes, minerals and essential oils, increases their bioavailability and thus improves the absorption of nutrients.
