For more than 20 years AMANDUS KAHL has been active in the conditioning of waste tires and supplies plants and machines all over the world - from intake to packaging. Tires offer a particularly high recycling potential. In material recycling, the tires are crushed and granulated.
Recycling Tires with KAHL Plants
The central part of the waste tire granulation unit is our flat die press. However, its task in this field is not the compaction of various bulk products. Instead, our flat die press is used as a crushing machine for the recycling of tires and works according to the pan grinder principle. For this reason, it is also called pan grinder mill. The pelleting elements such as pan grinder rollers and die exert a combined shearing and cutting impact on the product to be processed. The result is the desired separation of the waste tire into rubber, textile and steel.

FAQ’s about Tire Recycling
What is tire recycling and what are the benefits?
AMANDUS KAHL is your competent partner in the recycling of tires for various applications. The rubber is used for fall protection mats, for sports fields or in the rubber industry. The separated steel is used as a recyclate in the steel industry while the textile components are used as an alternative fuel.
The benefit of tire recycling using AMANDUS KAHL machines is that all three components (rubber, textile and steel) can be recycled. You should bear in mind that KAHL equipment does not produce a new tire as an end product but separates the three materials thoroughly from each other.
How to recycle waste tires?
In AMANDUS KAHL plants, the first step is primary crushing by means of pre-cutters/shredders, including the return of oversize particles. In a next step, which also includes the return of oversize particles, the pre-crushed tire is granulated by means of a pan grinder mill. The individual materials are separated and, if necessary, the rubber crumbs are finely ground.
How can AMANDUS KAHL help you start a profitable tire recycling business?
AMANDUS KAHL benefits from many years of experience with plants for waste tire crushing. The company is internationally successful and known for the modular design of the individual process steps in their plants. The individual components rubber, textile fibers and steel can be sold as cleaned and unmixed materials. The separated textile fibers can be compacted and transformed into alternative fuel pellets using KAHL flat die pellet mills. All machines are characterized by low wear costs.
